Engineering students from Auckland and Christchurch have spent the weekend with the Kaitiakitanga Energy Project team and the wider hapu in the Bay of Plenty - finding out more about the community and environment that they will be designing community-owned energy solutions for as their entries for the 2013 Odyssey Design Challenge.
Hikurangi has partnered with the Kaitiakitanga Energy team and Engineers without Borders to support the community’s wider goals to develop energy security and new revenue streams for the hapu.
The entries from the Challenge, due in August, will provide the hapu with concepts and detailed designs to consider for development.
