The Hikurangi Foundation was established in February 2008 to stimulate practical solutions by New Zealanders to the challenges of climate change and sustainability.

Initial funding has been provided with generous donations from the Tindall and Todd Foundations.

Trustees of the Foundation are:

Rod Oram
David Wratt

The Trustees are currently recruiting an Executive Director and establishing a strategic framework for selecting initiatives.  They expect to be ready to call for submissions from interested parties by mid-2008.
